If you own an RV, sooner or later something’s going to need attention—and when it does, having the right tools makes all the difference. These are the same tools we carry and use every day as certified RV technicians and inspectors. You don’t need a full shop, but having a solid set of essentials on hand can save you time, money, and a whole lot of frustration. This list is built for everyday RVers who want to be prepared, handle the basics, and travel with a little more confidence.
Klein CL800
Our preferred multimeter as it allows you to test AC and DC Volts plus Amps, Continuity, Ohms and Capacitance. The LoZ function is a low impedence filter that allows you to correctly test voltage on a Dometic air conditioner control board.
AstroAI CM4KOR
A highly rated budget multimeter that includes the amp clamp. This can test everything like the CL800 can minus the LoZ function. A perfect multimeter to have on hand if you don't need a workhorse.
Klein RT250
Our preferred circuit tester has a backlit LED screen and will display Volts as well as a variety of wiring faults if any are found. And you can also test the GFCI circuit by pressing the test button.
Klein RT210
Minus the voltage display of the RT250, this is a handy budget tester that will provide wiring faults if any are found plus allow you to test the GFCI circuit in the RV.
Klein ET820
Did you know that your USB devices have specifice needs. This USB tester will measure, current, capacity, energy and resistance on USB-A and USB-C outlets.
DROK USB Tester
This is a great little tester, and will perform all the same functions that the more expensive Klein will perform.
